Collective Expressions is FWDC’s annual performance opportunity for local adult dancers and choreographers. Each year, selected choreographers create new work with dancers from the FWDC community, culminating in a shared evening of performances. The program gives choreographers an opportunity to develop and present new work while giving dancers the chance to perform in a collaborative setting.

 

Choreographers: Applications to choreograph will go live on the FWDC website in January 2027. Applicants must be 18 years or older, have at least three years of dance experience, and have previously created and presented at least one performance piece for FWDC. Final selections will be made by the Artist Advisory Panel.

Dancers: Applications to audition will go live on the FWDC website in January 2027. The audition date will be announced in the coming weeks. Dancers must be 18 years or older, have at least three years of dance experience, and have participated in FWDC programming within the past year. FWDC programming includes classes, performances, workshops, teaching opportunities, and other FWDC programs or events. Participation will be determined by the Artist Advisory Panel, with casting handled collaboratively by the selected choreographers and FWDC staff. Preference will be given to dancers who have performed in Collective Expressions in previous years.
