In this beginner-friendly class for teens and adults, students will explore the fundamentals of modern technique and athleticism through dynamic floor and center combinations. Inspired by the early pioneers who broke away from rigid traditions to create a freer and more expressive art form, dancers will learn how modern emphasizes grounded movement, breath, and individuality. Classwork highlights proper alignment, body awareness, and an expressive movement vocabulary that translates across all styles of dance. With an emphasis on musicality, students will move to both contemporary music and the driving rhythms of percussion, cultivating precision, artistry, and authentic expression.
