Zoe grew up in Fort Wayne immersed in the arts and completed her BA in Computer Art with a concentration in Multimedia at the University of Saint Francis. She always enjoyed dancing and explored breakin’ and modern dance through classes at the Fort Wayne Dance Collective in her early twenties. She was later thrilled to apprentice as a hopeful ballroom dance instructor at Arthur Murray before a significant foot injury temporarily redirected her path. Not wanting to remain idle during recovery, she moved to the West Coast to continue graduate study in Web Design. After a year of recovery and building strength, she decided to pivot and dedicated herself fully to dance training with a focus on Latin, West Coast Swing, Bachata, Salsa, and Merengue. Shaped by a community of people and experiences, Zoe traveled to many dance festivals, congresses, and coaching workshops. These experiences helped her develop a diverse skill set in both competitive and social dance, including a 1st-place finish in a West Coast Swing Jack ‘N’ Jill.
Eventually Zoe returned to Fort Wayne to be closer to family and continue studying ballroom dance. She worked nearly 8 years as an Office Manager for The Fort Wayne Ballroom Company, gaining professional dance instructor credentials, assisting instructors, and eventually teaching her own class and lessons. While there, she had the opportunity to partner with an individual from the Pathfinder Services program in a local inclusive dance competition. Zoe also performed as a part of showcases and fundraiser events to benefit Honor Flight and Black Pine Animal Sanctuary.
Personal experiences with healing and resilience deepened Zoe’s belief in the arts as a powerful source of connection, confidence, and personal transformation. These experiences strengthened her desire to contribute to nonprofit arts efforts that help others experience healing, confidence, and joy through dance. Volunteering for the Fort Wayne Dance Collective, Zoe found meaningful purpose, which continues today through her work as a Front Desk Assistant and ongoing training in dance styles that broaden and enrich her artistic perspective. She is passionate about lifelong artistic growth within the community and helping cultivate spaces where others feel encouraged to explore, connect, and thrive through dance.
